HEALTH & HEALTHCARE
Our Goal
Every resident can access the care and services they need to live a healthy, full life.
The Need
Many neighborhoods in Buffalo and Niagara Falls lack consistent access to preventative care, primary care, and affordable health services, contributing to persistent health disparities.
-
Niagara Falls: 13% of adults lack a usual source of care, and only 36% have had cholesterol checked in the past five years.
-
Niagara Falls: 11% of emergency department visits are potentially preventable; 16% of adults report experiencing poor mental health for 14+ days in the past month.
-
Buffalo: Health disparities are concentrated in neighborhoods with high poverty, limited transportation, and insufficient healthcare infrastructure.
Our Approach
Working with trusted medical partners, we expand high-quality, accessible healthcare by:
Promoting healthy living
Supporting neighborhood-based clinics
Increasing preventative and primary care access
Connecting families to medical providers
Coordinating with hospitals and community health organizations
Advocating for equitable healthcare infrastructure
